This is one of my most favorite ways of making art because it allows for a lot of experimentation before I have to decide anything and I get to recycle too! Plus I get to use whatever medium strikes my fancy— from watercolor and acrylic to glue to pastels and crayons to foraged inks.

I mostly create my own collage materials from printer paper rescued from the recycling bin which I then paint. I love old things so I tresure the vintage paper and ephemera I collect (or hoard as some people might say). I find junk mail to be a great source as well. And I pocket bits of nature— like small patch of moss that has fallen from a tree or a feather— that I can incorporate into a collage; these gifts from nature often end up as inspiration rather than material, but a few more recent collages
